Green color was chosen to reflect peoples and societies may proceed as normal and should not have to worry about their security with regards to hostilities from foreign states.

The situation is characterised by countries being hostile towards each other and performing propaganda campaigns towards own or foreign populations with the purpose of generating support for certain policies. Emerging conflicts may spillover to trade wars or hybrid attacks such as cyber warfare and covert attacks on infrastructure and other assets.

Grey color was chosen to reflect, that what is happening may be considered a grey area due to its covert nature. The intention of the hostilities may be unclear.

Sanctions, cold war situation.

Yellow color was chosen to reflect, that peace and friendship among states have openly ceased and the relationship between the states are directly adversarial.

Preparations for invasion are underway. Territorial integrity are regularly infringed upon by adversarial countries.

Orange color was chosen to relfect, that the aggressiveness of a foreign hostile actor is escalating and the potential for advancing to the maximum threat level is increasingly likely.

Sanctions, Invasion, annexation, high probability of war crimes.

Red color was chosen to reflect, that the situation has escalated to the maximum potential and domestic security is infringed upon by a foreign hostile state to its fullest degree.
